INCREMENT WEATHER DAYS:
We will proceed with online dance classes.
MISSED CLASS POLICY/LATE ATTENDANCE.
There are no make up sessions for sessions missed by a student, if Sankskar Studios has to cancel or postpone a session a make up class will be provided. Students who arrive 10 minutes late will not be permitted into class.
ATTIRE:
Students are to wear their hair tied back, dress in a Shalwar Kameez and/or Sankskar Studios class pant/shirt. Kathak students are to also bring a notebook and their ghungroos.
GHUNGROOS
Dancers who are enrolled in the Kathak curriculum will receive their ghungroos after the completion of their first term and have a solid understanding of the fundamentals, theory & basic practices of Kathak. They will receive them in the last session of the 1st term during their Ghungroos Ceremony by their teacher, Reshmi.

Methodology
Reshmi Chetram is the principal of Sankskar Studios ( formerly Tarana Dance ) she is rooted in Kathak heritage, Indo-Caribbean culture and comes from a lineage of gurus that spans centuries. As a principal performing artist, dance educator & holisitic health practitioner with 20 years of experience, Reshmi brings with her a breadth of knowledge, history and a strong ability to root dancers while helping them expand to reach their individual potential in dance.
Reshmi is the disciple of her late mother & Kathak artist, Deviekha Chetram as well as the late Padmavibushan, Sri Pandit Birju Maharaj and has mentored with gurus in Toronto & India such as late Smt Sandhya Desai, Smt Saswati Sen, Kumudini Lakhia & Durga Arya.
Sanskar Studios Method is one that approaches learning from the root up. Founded on the principles of planting roots and blossoming, Sansksar Studios is rooted in preserving traditions and inspiring innovation in Indian Dance. Through a holistic approach to traditional dance education, Sanskar Studios blends restorative movement, natural health modalities, structured learning environments and self devotion techniques to bring a complete mind, body + spirit connection to the learning experience.
